Incident 12th August

• On 12th August following an incident at Hong Kong International Airport the Hong Kong International Airport Authority announced the cancellation of all flights
• The announcement by the Hong Kong International Airport Authority triggers an exclusion under the policy, being a circumstance leading to the cancellation and/or disruption of your journey before the purchase of this travel insurance. To be fair to our customers we agree that the policyholder will only be aware of the circumstance from 4pm on August 12th.
• For any Travel Insurance Policies purchased after 4pm (Hong Kong Time) on 12th August, any losses caused by this incident will NOT be covered.
• For any Travel Insurance Policies purchased before 4pm (Hong Kong Time) 12 August you WILL be covered for any trip cancelation or travel delay, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. AIG will assess your claim subject to policy terms and conditions. For details of coverage, terms, conditions and exclusions please refer to the policy wording.

Incident 13th August

• On 13th August due to a further event at Hong Kong Airport a number of flights were delayed or cancelled.
• News that flights are cancelled or delayed triggers an exclusion under the policy, being a circumstance leading to the cancellation and/or disruption of your journey before the purchase of this travel insurance. To be fair to our customers we agree that the policyholder will only be aware of the circumstance from 5pm on August 13th.
• For any Travel Insurance Policies purchased prior to 5pm (Hong Kong Time) on the 13 August, any losses caused by the incident on the 13th August WILL be covered for any trip cancelation or travel delay, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. AIG will assess your claim subject to policy terms and conditions. For details of coverage, terms, conditions and exclusions please refer to the policy wording.
• For any Travel Insurance Policies purchased after 5pm (Hong Kong Time) 13th August any losses caused by the incident on the 13th August will NOT be covered.
